Energizer Yoga is managed by Mr. Kamal Maliramani with over nine years of committed experience in yoga.
He took to Yoga as a method of relaxation and having found it beneficial, went through an extensive teaching course and later began teaching the art as well. He regularly updates himself with new developments in the field of Yoga and in 2012 he also enrolled for one month at the world recognized institute K.Pattabhi Jois Institute of Ashtanga Yoga; here Yoga enthusiast come from various corners of the world to learn Ashtanga Yoga also popular by the name Power Yoga.
As a part of the course, students get to learn Pranayam, Micro Yoga, Suryanamaskar, Asna and Kriya. Energizer Yoga helps the body rejuvenate in many ways and helps students manage stress in today's 24x7 environment.It creates a balance between body and mind thereby helps to lead a rich and healthy life.
The dark is associated with uncertainty, unknown, fear and gets you low. The light on the other end brings clarity, certainty, cheer and one feels high. Light is life and dark is death. Light is God and dark is the Devil.
This play of light and dark exist in our lives. In our journey, we all experience the dark and the light. The cover of the dark is difficult to handle, it usually seems large, never-ending and gigantic for us to handle. When the cover of darkness takes over our life, we try to find a way out, try to fight it out. However, darkness can only be fought with light. Nothing else will work.
The beauty is, that no matter how strong the dark seems, it does not have the capacity to douse even a spark, forget a flame or fire. Even the reflection of light, by Moon, is enough to free earth of darkness, that is the potential and power of light. So in life do not invest your energy and time fighting the dark, instead, turn inward and strengthen the light within. This light within has the power to light up the world. Darkness can happen only in the absence of light. For light to happen we need to burn, like the Sun. The effort is our fuel. The path is tough but certain.
On similar lines, one cannot change the world, it’s also a dark place. All your effort to change the world (others) will be futile, you are investing your precious time in the impossible. We have sailed through several ages from iron age to the internet age, the world seems to change but it does not.
Change your focus. Change to that which is possible. The ability to change oneself. The light within you when bright and strong will light up the world. There will be power, there will be stillness, there will be bliss.
Remember, it is an opportunity to be born human. Explore the opportunity. Nourish the seed within, fill it with the potential to flower. Even in filth, the seed of the lotus plant is in the dark… it rises tall, despite all odds, and shines to be a lotus.
Many evolved souls did just that. They turned inside. The wise believed in the possibility within. The possibility is YOU. Shine on 🙂
Kriya Yoga is the means suggested by Patanjali for a person who has just started the Yoga journey, to seek the truth. Among the three steps suggested here Tapas is the first one where our work begins.

In this digital age, even a small shift in climate throws us out of gear, seasonal fever or infection has become the norm of the day. A power cut makes us uncomfortable. We can’t fathom the idea of sleep without a mattress. Missing out on a meal invites Migraine. The resistance for heat in summer and cold in winter is being compromised by use of convenience machines. Conveniences and comforts are making us dependent. Even a little discomfort takes away your mental or physical balance. It keeps you away from the mandatory focus to progress on the path of Yoga, then how does one expect to progress?
Tapas on the physical level prepares our body to be strong and resistant to climate and environment changes. A cold water bath in the morning before we begin our day is a ritual if followed through all seasons be it summer, rainy or winter can be seen as a form of tapas. This simple ritual can build immense resistance to seasonal changes.
So one day you are excited and thrilled when your work gets appreciated or rewarded, the very next day you are depressed because you were denied some opportunity or you were not identified to be fit enough for some task. This living in extremes which is driven by disappointment, anger, greed, pride, jealousy and other mixed emotions or thoughts can never ever allow one to be peaceful, forget meditation. The constant turmoil that we develop by trying to survive competition, be it at work or home, friend or relative, colleague or neighbour keeps us away from the being fulfilled or happy.
Tapas on the mental or emotional level helps us in staying steady and makes our resolve on the search for truth stronger. We realize the purpose of this life and we keep working with zest and vigor towards our goal of Samadhi (the last among the eight stages on the path of Raja Yoga).
With Tapas one can get the mind and senses in control, currently its the opposite and we mindlessly dance to their tunes. Irony being that we aren’t even aware about it. The chase to be happy is always met with disappointment and sadness.
The most critical ingredient of Tapas is a Resolve. To identify one aspect of your life that you wish to cultivate and then work around the essentials that are needed to be repeated on an everyday basis until the goal is achieved. The idea now is to stick to it… no matter what!!! Unlike the new year resolution, the resolve here is to prepare you for the higher goal of moving inward and to help discover your own Self. It could begin with something as simple as meditation for just 2 mins at a fixed time, a cold water shower everyday at a specified time through every season. Slowly as you get successful with smaller simpler tasks the mind will get stronger and convinced with the results it will only move you up the ladder. Now you can embark on fasting for a day or a three or a week, stay with Mouna (silence) for may be a week or more. The same mind that kept you away from your resolve with now be a friend taking you along. It has now experienced or tasted the bliss of being steady or focused. Haven’t we seen this with marathon runners, or for that matter in any sport? The achievements are a result of sustained effort for a long long time.
Tapas should not be taken up to achieve powers or goals, there should be no deal with it, no expectation, no timeline and most important no ownership. One does Tapas knowing fully well that it will lead you to higher spheres of consciousness. It will take you to yourself. The results will come, our task is to keep the efforts going and give it all that we have. The moment there is a deal or ownership it will start feeding the ego. The inflated ego will keeps one away from oneself. The same tapas that has the ability to take you higher can also become the reason for your fall. The missing devotion or surrender can lead you to misery, pain and leave you shattered.
Tapas brings stability of the body, mind and emotions. It increases mind power to stay with one subject for a long time with devotion. It empowers us with the ability of one pointedness or Ekagrata. This becomes the right preparation to walk on the path of Yoga. Beware that your current fickle mind will not lead you anywhere but misery. It is the over worked body, mind and emotions that brings all suffering and diseases. Tapas is the first step that can lead you to bliss.
Slow cooking brings out the best flavors in your dish and Tapas is “to cook”, so go slow and remain steady.

Our love for AcroYoga keeps growing. With this video we are happy to share the progress of our young and strong student Anoushka. We also have Dr.Anju and Rupali who are also shaping up to be good flyers. In the video Anoushka demonstrates washing machines that include Monkey Frog, Corkscrew, Helicopter & Four steps. While she continues to refine her skills and movement we are only delighted by her good progress.
Sow a seed and it will take a few days, months or even years before it germinates, grows and bears fruits. Seasons change slowly. Mountains form over centuries. Look everywhere around in nature and all the good happens slowly.
Shift focus to our lives…it’s exactly the opposite. Faster cars, faster music, faster cooking, faster shopping, faster recovery…. Fast has become our way of life. We expect everything to move & happen quickly. Deserving or not, we want it. At the touch of a button the master in out head wants a response. Technology has spoilt us and if we continue to give in we will be miserable.
The unfortunate reality is that mind cannot distinguish, it is conditioned by habit. Now it will be in no mood to have patience. We want to lose weight fast, we want to get into an asana fast, we want all the benefits of our work NOW.
Picture this…eating slowly, enjoying the meal morsel by morsel…enjoying the sea breeze while walking across a beach…holding our partners hand, looking into each other’s eyes and feeling the moment…slow dancing, slow music everything starts connecting you with the moment. And life is that…living the moment.
The practice of Yoga connects you with your natural pace. There is no way you can get into the headstand the very first day, so far no such pill has been discovered. We have no other choice than to be slow & patient. We have to work every day making progress slowly and steadily. It may take days, months and even years…we have to be ready to deserve it. When we devote time to our Yoga practice and work on each asana patiently we start changing our habit…we now work slowly and steadily getting us the right results. Our mind gives in to the new habit. We start understanding the world in its natural pace. The short circuit in our mind that makes us act without thinking is broken, we start living, we start thinking, we start acting rather than reacting.
Life starts getting beautiful and this beauty will reflect in your face, actions and conduct. Slow is the way and the only way of life. Live it.
